Yard Clean Up in North Portland

Springtime brings beautiful days and abundant flowers, but it can be tough for folks to keep up with their yards. Longtime Portland homeowner, Dennis McBride was in a bind and the fees were adding up. With a limited income and little support, his yard had become too much and the citations for code and nuisance citations started piling up.

Enter the Community Builders Program, REACH free home repair program dedicated to helping low income senior homeowners and homeowners with disabilities age safely in their homes by providing free home repairs and accessibility modifications.

Usually, we bring in volunteer groups to help us with larger projects, but this time we brought in volunteers from our own office to help out.

REACH staff lowered a fence, cleaned up the yard, trimmed trees and shrubs, and spread wood chips turning Dennis’s yard into something him and his neighbors can be proud of.

REACH’s Community Builders Program (CBP) is dedicated to helping low income senior homeowners and homeowners with disabilities age safely in their homes by providing free home repairs and accessibility modifications. We also help resolve code and nuisance citations for homeowners.
