REACH Welcomes Alma Flores to its Board of Directors

With a distinguished career spanning over two decades in local government and a profound commitment to equitable housing and community development, Alma Flores brings a wealth of expertise to the REACH board. Her extensive background includes pivotal roles in policy-making, program and project management, and a strong focus on racial justice and community engagement.

Alma’s relationship with REACH is rooted in her previous tenure as the Director of Housing Development, where she was instrumental in advancing the organization’s mission. Now, as Community Development Director for City of Golden Valley, Minnesota, she brings a broader perspective and a commitment to sharing best practices and innovative models for public-private partnerships and collaborations.
Alma serves on several boards and has been a dedicated community advocate through her previous roles, including Past Chair of the Washington County Housing Advisory Committee and board member of both the Portland Housing Center and the Network for Oregon Affordable Housing.

Alma holds a Master’s in City Planning from MIT and is a proud second-generation Xicana who considers Oregon home. Her personal and professional journeys underscore her commitment to reducing disparities and enhancing the quality of life for underserved populations.
