Volunteer Spotlight: Ben Werner
Ben began his volunteer work in 2015 on REACH’s finance and philanthropy committees. He is now in his second term as a board member at REACH and continues to sit on the finance committee and chairs the investment committee. With his professional background in managing investments for The Standard, Ben brings a mix of financial expertise and a passion for service to our work at REACH.
“I got involved because I really believe in the mission of helping other people. Whether it’s building apartment housing or helping repair a single-family home so the owner can continue to live in it, for me it comes down to a feeling of responsibility to do what I can and a belief in the foundational role that housing plays.”

“Reaching goals comes from putting down roots and getting connected to the community. Providing that stability to people really resonates with me. Often out perception is that affordable housing is only for certain populations, like those transitioning out of homelessness or those with drastically different backgrounds from ours. But stable housing is needed by everyone, and it’s simply not attainable for many in our community - from seniors, veterans, and families with kids to those living with disabilities.”
